Can I link Google Scholar and the CMC Libraries databases?

Answer

Yes!  Google Scholar includes a function that lets you affiliate its searches with a college or university.  Doing so will let you see if CMC has access to the full text of any articles included in the Google search results.  Here's how to set it up:

Go to scholar.google.com, and open the hidden menu in the top left corner.

Then select "settings" from the dropdown menu.

In the settings menu, click on the "Library Links" option.

In the search bar, type "Colorado Mountain College" and either hit enter, or click on the blue search icon.

A listing for Colorado Mountain College should appear. Check the box next to it, and click on the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the screen.

Now, when you do a search on Google Scholar, it should tell you in the results whether the CMC Libraries have access to the article.

If you click on the "Full Text @ CMC Library" link, it should take you to the article in the CMC databases.  Also, if you are signed into CMC's Basecamp anywhere in the browser, you should be able to click on the Google result link and go straight to the full article.

Happy searching!
